Alive and well with a Pilsner

Howdy fans. Its been oh...ages? Life hit me a bit hard, and so my time for beer tasting and reviewing, well, took a back seat for a while. Between getting sick, getting better, and moving, and yeah, starting a new job. In any case, Im back, and I've got a review.

So, when we last spoke, I had just tried the Nut Brown Ale. And I liked it. A lot. However, I had said it was a close call between the NBA, and the Pilsner. Well, I just tried the Pilsner.

So, sadly, it was just me this time, since I'm no longer living with my folks (downside of moving is you only get my point of view). This is what I got after a pour:

Starts off with a nice head, and a light golden color, smelled like a typical Pilsner. There was definitely a bite to it, but it wasn't bad. I'd say its refreshing. Had a nice after taste but I wouldn't call it smooth. Personally, I think this would go well with a burger, but I've been doing my best to not eat anything while doing an initial taste test.

Overall, this is a summer beer. Better tasting then the Porter IMO, but not as good as the Nut Brown. And it has no serious aftertaste. Bonus.

Stay tuned my friends (if your out there), more uptdates on the way.

Round 3: Nut Brown Ale

So, No posts the past few days, because I've no time to drink past few nights. Sorry bout that, but life catches up to you some times, and I don't always feel like downing a beer (or half a beer, whatever) right before bed.

In any case, I debated a bit between trying the Nut Brown ale, or the Pilsner. I'd never had a Nut Brown ale, or any kind of Brown ale for that matter (to my knowledge). I've no idea what a Brown Ale is. I have had pilsners tho, So I decided on the Nut Brown Ale instead:

In anycase, poured myself and my Dad a glass (he's been going drink for drink with me so far, other then the porter). It poured well, and had a nice Head. Thats the first thing I noticed anyways. Either it just forms a head better then the other beers, or I was getting better at pouring. The color was similar to the Spring Lager, as you can see below

I gave it a good sniff (required of all beer snobs to do so), and noted taht what sent it had was faint and (get this) nutty. Big surprsie, right? It was also very mouthwatering.

As for taste, it was surprisingly sweet. More so then the Spring Lager. And, not surprisingly, there was a nutty aftertaste. Not like peanuts or cashews, but more like walnuts or almonds ( I don't regularly eat walnuts or almonds, so it's hard for me to say which one it was the most like). I'd be curious to see what nuts go into the mix for the beer, but I figure thats one of those Trade Secret thingies (least ways I didn't see any ingrediants listed on the site). There was some bite to it, but not enough to make me cringe.

As far as aftertaste, what little there was of it was actually kinda pleasent. The whole thing went down and tasted very smooth as well. I came out liking it very much. Best one I've had so far.

Round 2: Spring Lager

So, the second beer i tried from the St. Georges Brewery was the Spring Lager.

I've had simmilar "spring" drinks. THey all tend to try to be lighter then the winter ones (usually stouts), and I've noticed that summer drinks tend to be "ales". This Spring lager tho, was nice. I liked it.

First off, the color. It has this nice golden red. Not quite the red of Killians Irish, but, IMO, comprable. (see below for a crappy picture of said color.)

My first impression of the taste was a twang. I can't explain it better then that, but theres some distinct Umph in the beer the first sip you take. The flavor was close to being sweet, but not quite. It was surprisingly mouth-watering. It's been a while since a beer has done that for me. Unlike any and all Budwiser beers, this Spring Lager really had "Drinkability". There was a far less bitter bite to it then the Porter, which was also nice. I mean, I can deal with some bite, but not too much (say,  IPA too much). The aftertaste was different too, much different. What after taste there was for the Spring Lager (which was faint) was sweet, not bitter. So, another nice surprise.

On the whole, good beer. Not my favorite of all time, but it's up there. I always like it when the local stuff turns out to be good, and seasonal beers often tend to be among the best a given microbrewer makes. Good beer.

Round one: Porter

The first of the St. George's beers that I tried was the Porter, since I tend to be a fan of Porters and Stouts.

Porters are at the dark end of beers. Tend to be smooth, and have less of a bite then most beers (at least in my experience). Often, like Stouts, Porters are made with  some chocolate or coffee or similar ingredient. Least I think so anyways.

At first glance, this beer was pretty darn dark. Night on black. The head wasn't much to write home about tho. Smelled like porter, maybe a hint of chocolate, hard to tell.

Sadly, it went down hard. There was more of a bite then I expected, to say the least. That was surprising and depressing. I don't like to associate bite with the darker beers. There was also a very unpleasant after taste, something else I don't normally associate with Porters or Stouts. Sadly, I have to rank this one rather low on the beers I've had. Oh, its better then any cheap beer, and at least half your non cheap beers, but it just wasn't quite what I want in a Porter. Whats even more sad is that the Porter and the IPA are the only 6 packs aside from the sampler pack that were available for purchase at the Farm Fresh that is the only place I know of off the top of my head that sells products from the St. George's Brewery.

And thus ends my first short review of the St. Georges Porter.

Back in the Saddle again, or A Quest for St. George.

*Dusts off the cobwebs*
Right so, been a while since I or anyone else for that matter has posted on this blog. I haven't had all that much to say. I could go on about graduation a few days ago, or family or what not, but Instead, I'll regal you with a story of a quest of a sorts.

Some background:
This past semester at Virgina Tech, I took a class called World Regions. Very fun class. The teacher is an eccentric individual. In fact, Eccentric is a bit of an understatement, but whatever. In anycase, he thinks hes a super hero. Or well, he has an alter ego as a super hero. That too doesn't matter much, but it should give you an idea of how awesome he is.

Its his second class that matters, the one I wasn't enrolled in: Geography of Wine. Neat, right? A class devoted to the origins of wine. Long and short, the man knows his wine, his beer and his booze. And he talks about it, a lot. I've gotten a ton of recommendations of all kinds of stuff to drink from him, usually over Drinks at some place like Soulvakis, the local Greek place (yeah, that's right, I've been drinking with my Professor. Hell, he bought me and my Girlfriend lunch once).

Right so, background on the professor, check. Last day I am in Blacksburg, I decided to stop at the Vintage Cellar on the way out of time. The Vintage Cellar specializes in wines and rare (read that as not your Budweiser) beers. They tend to have all kinds of stuff from all over the place, including "local" guys. I've been blessed in Blacksburg with 2 local breweries: The Bull and Bones, which is also a restaurant, and the Blacksburg Brewing Co, which makes an excellent Pilsner (first One I had that I liked. Sadly, it's not bottled....I'm gonna miss that beer...)

Anywho, I'm there to pick up a beer for my Uncle. He came down to Hampton to watch my Grandmother while my Mom came up to see me graduate, and I knew he liked beers by the St. Peters brewery. So I got him some, and I picked up a bottle of wine for a friends approaching 21st birthday. While I'm there however, I hear someone call my name from behind the counter. Low and behold, its Prof. Boyer, my World Regions Professor and drinking buddy. Turns out he spends a lot of his free time there. He and I and my folks and girlfriend get to talking. We get to going on about local beers. And this is when I find out that, low and behold (I like that phrase, "Low and Behold"....I can make a dick joke out of it, I'm sure), that there's a Local Brewery in my hometown of Hampton, VA. The St. Georges Brewing Co. Total shocker, let me tell you.

Well, I get home. Give my Uncle his beer, and find out that he bought a 6 pack of St. George's India Pale Ale (for those not in the know, an IPA is a kind of beer. It involves a specific method of brewing that I don't really know, as in all honesty, I don't really like IPA's. I think the official term is too hoppy. Its been ages since I've had one, and I'm not exactly in a rush to see if my opinion has changed now that I drink beer quasi-regularly. I'm sure I'll encounter one again sooner or later, but I'm not gonna actively search them out). He also had one of the Porters (a darker kind of beer similar to a Stout) for dinner the night before. Get this: he found them at the local grocery store. Not a specialty store, the local Farm Fresh. Fuckin A.

So the next day, I try a few of the Local Farm Fresh's till I find the one he went to (turns out to be the one that has the Star Bucks that I used to work at in it. Small world). I see a 6 pack of Porter, a Six pack of IPA, and this:

The St. George's DragonPack, or Sampler pack. It has 6 beers: Porter, Lager, Pilsner, Spring Lager, Nut Brown Ale, and American Brown Ale ( I have no idea what the Difference between the two are, but if I had to bet, it'd be their Nuts). I quickly deduced that this was not all that St. Georges had to offer, but it was all that was on the shelf (Other beer's offered include: Golden Ale, India Pale Ale (mentioned earlier), Summer Ale, Fall Bock, and Winter Stout. As you can imagine, the last three are the other seasonal ales, like the Spring Lager, that are available when any reasonable person would imagine, as their names would suggest). So, after a quick debate, I went ahead and nabbed the awesome DragonPack. $9 later, myself and my new shiny box of beer were in the car and on the way home, bottles rattling as they eagerly awaited a stomach acidly death.

Thus was the Quest for St. Georges Beer.

In an effort to make myself do more blog posts, I shall be trying these beers over the next week or so. One a night, when I have the option to do so. The drinking started last night (May 19th), tho the actual blog post for the first drink I tried (the Porter) will be up tomorrow. I am keeping my notes on the beers in my handy dandy Moleskin Notebook (purchased yesterday, before I decided to go on a beer quest), and will provide pictures. I may also include input from my Dad, who is willing to try some of the beers. Not every one tho, because some nights he just doesn't feel like trying a beer.

So, you've all been warned. I promise the next few blog posts from me (ie, 6-7) will not be nearly as long as this one, and will end with a special post (I'm not telling what it is, but I'm sure someone will figure it out sooner or later. Feel free to guess). In the mean time, I have some drinking to do. G'nite!

PS: this blog is cross posted on my Art of Manliness blog page.

Well, That Was Fast... No Comic

Well, after this short time and after spending the money to make netaidol.com, my artist bailed on me. She went super psycho putting me down in emails then asking me why I don't read her emails and acknowledge her feelings. Anybody who knows me, knows that tho I like to stir up trouble, I definitely love my friends and do whatever I can for them. I guess she's just an idiot.

So that's about it. I don't have time to draw out a comic and no devotion to do one page every...month it feels so yeah, sorry if anyone actually went and checked on there.

On the better news, I'm really busy. I work alot and my shifts change all the time. I'm sorry I don't come on here and post or comment any as I'm trying to adjust to my 9-5 position for a month and a half until they put me on 2-10 which i dont want. I'll eventually get back to y'all

2 years...

This is short, but warning, it's gonna kill the mood around here.

2 years ago today, 32 of my classmates were gunned down in cold blood. I usually dont think about it, but I've had one too many drinks tonight to not think about what happened.

To Absent Friends.

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

Dragon Ball Z Redux? Yes!

Yes folks, Dragon Ball Z is being re-aired for it's twentieth anniversary under. Twenty years...god I feel old. >_< It's been remastered for HD and has been edited somewhat so it's not quite as long. It's been renamed Dragon Ball Kai. The cast has even redone the voice work completely! First ep is available now so if you're feeling a bit of nostalgia for a kinder, simpler anime time then definitely check this out. ^_^

Full Metal Alchemist Redux

Well sports fans, it's finally here! The new version of the Fullmetal Alchemist anime has just begun and it's off to an awesome start! From what I can tell, this seems to be a complete remake of the series, though I'm not sure if it will be more faithful to the manga than the original (a fantastic series in it's own right as I'm sure you all know) or a complete reimagining but the basic story seems the same. A must watch whether you're a fan of the original series or not. ^_^ Oh, good news as well, in case you've not already heard the sequels to Spice and Wolf and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are due out later this year. Be sure and keep an eye out.

In other news, I'd like to appologize for not posting lately. My life has been weird lately and, to be honest, I just haven't felt much like writing. I plan to change all that for the foreseeable future though so keep watching for more posts from me, and on more than just anime! Wish me luck and sacrifice a goat to the muses for me, eh? ;)

Blackout Ireland

So i just found out in my Net Law course today that the Recording Industry in Ireland of all places, are telling ISP's who can access the internet. They will supply ISP's with the names of ppl that download illegally, and then the ISP's will cut off the persons access to the internet unless they stop. So far, one ISP in Ireland has agreed.

Now, whether or not you agree with file sharing is not the point. My issue is this: a private company is regulating access to the internet.  They are saying who can go online, and who cant, and thats just wrong.

So, this is the start of Blackout Week for Ireland. This article explains whats going on far better then I can:

and this is one of the sites about the movement of protest:

bascially, just change your profile pictures to black. Myself, I've added "blackout Ireland" to mine so ppl get the point.

WHy does this matter to you or me, if we're not in Ireland? If they can get away with it there, they can get away with it anywhere....

Short story

Right, well, this is posted on Deviant art ( http://brutus87.deviantart.com/art/Loss-and-Love-114373360 ).

I haven't sat down and tried to do fanfiction in...well, sense sometime last semester at the very least. I have never posted any online before. Ever. THis is a first.

I was out drinking tonite, with some friends at their apartment. Had a blast. Got back to the dorm, needed to make sure i was sober enough, and had drank enough water so I wouldn't get a hangover.

I ended up sitting down and writing this. First short fanfic I ever made. Shit, first completed fan fiction I've ever done. All the others are thes multichapter epics that have yet to be finished (tho after tonite, I think I'm going to work on one again, if I can find it).

This is in response to the latest chaprter of Naruto, of all damn things. Go figure.

Anyways, lots of thanks to Jacen, for giving it a once over before I posted it. He convinced me to keep all the story in there ( I was debating the last paragraph or two). He reinforced that it seemed like I had made the right choice as far as kind of ending, yano, Happy or Sad.

If you dont read/follow Naruto, hopefully this will still be decently pretty/moving. Just place yourself in the one role, and someone you love in the other.
Anywho, heres the story. I'm going to bed.

Loss and Love:

He sat there, hands trembling, bound in bandages, in the hospital room, as the first tears fell from his eyes. Stark with pain, they seemed to stare at the figure in the bed, and into space at the same time. A short life, full of hurt, lonelyness, emptyness. Friends were few and far between, love, nigh on nonexistant. The closest thing he'd ever had to a brother had left him, tried to kill him. Two surrugate grandfathers, one a true mentor, both dead. A replacement father, so to speak, possibly dead. Two parents he'd never met. So much pain, in so few years. More then anyone his age should have had to bear.

Add to that the battle. Devistating. Half the city, wipped out of existance. So much death and destruction, all because one madman wanted him. Wanted to use him, and leave him for dead, and people whom had hated him most his life, stood and said "no". He had to save them, he had to return. ANd so he did. It was costly, it was bloody...It was indecisive. The enemy had managed to escape. Beaten. Broken. Free, none the less. And what did he have to show for it? He lost control. He nearly killed his own people, as well as the enemy. And now his body was broken, it would be ages before he would be able to stand up and defend them again. Not that it mattered, not any more.

No, all that mattered to the boy, the man now, at this point, was the woman laying in front of him. So shy, so simple, never obtrusive, always careful, always in the background, never noticed. How could he not have seen? How could he have been so blind. The one thing that he longed for, so much, so very desperately much, in his life, lay beaten and broken on the bed. Someone so delicate, but so strong, so beautiful. To see her this way, to hear her last words, before she was struck down, broke his heart in two, deeper then any wound delt to him in the battle.

Love. She loved him. She said it, then rushed head long to protect him. He inspired her. Gave her reasons to keep on living. She loved him, and he never realized it. Never once noticed. How he had longed for love, followed like a lost puppy one girl, to never see that what he wanted, what he needed, was right behind him all along. To come so close, so very close...to loosing it all....

The tears fell faster, staining the sheets, falling freely, as he has no shame left, no pride to keep his tears at bay. Tears, falling like raindrops. So many tears. They were all he had left. He had no voice. He was afraid, that if he spoke, it woudl all be gone.

For the tears were not of pain, sadness, or loss. They were of bewilderment, of hope, of love. He'd been sitting there, for two days, silent as a tomb. Not eating, barely sleeping. Holding her hand in his, praying with all he was, for a mirical. He cried, and cried, because her hand, her broken hand, had squeezed his wounded one, and lips, red from cuts, had parted, saying simply...

"Naruto..."

ITs all it took. One word, one small short word. His name. IT broke the dam inside. Everything that he'd held back, came rushing forward. The tears flowed faster, as his head sunk, to lay against hers. All he could manage, all he could force himself to say, he did, in a hoarse whisper

"Hinata....oh thank god, Hinata..."

Life's ups and downs...mostly downs.

[Rant]People drive me nuts. They always have. But the more I deal with the general public the more evident that my patience is slowly diminishing. One of my biggest pet peeves is the lack of manners and listening skills people seem to have. The lack of "Pleases" and "Thank yous" are growing. Maybe people are just on edge due to the poor state of our economy. What people fail to realize is, our generation is that of spoiled brats. But I'll save that rant for another day. ah listening skills. Remember in elementary/Jr. high we had to take a listening skills test? I think 85% of the people I deal with on a daily basis would fail, if they took it. You ask them one thing and they answer with something completely non-related to the question. I mean...when does "What kind of bread?" translate to "would you like a meal?" (Yes I still work at subway. =P) Another thing that pisses me off, is idiots who are on their cell phone, while you're trying to help them with their order. Drives me nuts. Especially, when they think just because no one is behind them, you have all the time in the world to wait around for them to make their order. This isn't McDonalds. We don't have 10 people who could serve you. I have other shit to do. -__- Or worse when there is an ungodly line behind them, and their 30 second order is turning into a 5 minute ordeal, because they have to take orders off their cell. ok I'm done. I feel a bit better...[/rant]

Anyway, Alaster got sick for about a week. (My computer) He caught some seriously nasty malware. It attacked my OS. My computer would only start every once in a while. It got so bad, that I resorted to some drastic measures...I went to Best Buy. Because we all know Circuit City went bankrupt. =__= I bought a 500GB external Hardrive($89, not bad) and Webroot Spysweeper with Antivirus ($50 not too too bad for supposed good shit) I saved all my anime, music, and artworks onto my external, and reformatted Alaster completely. Then I installed Webroot, and Spybot Search and Destroy. I'll be getting a flashdrive with Macfee, and other antiviral software, for like $30 on my next paycheck. I'm broke right now due to Valentines Day spending.

ooo speaking of Valentines Day, it's also our Anniversary ((4 years of me being with my manfriend)) He bought me 3 roses, and a cakes with this picture on it:and one other rose on the cake to make 4 roses. I wish I had taken a pic of it, but the battery on the camera was dead, and we were both drooling over the cake. lol Que ended up working on V-day, but i treated him to Dinner at O'Charleys afterward.

Well I took a pregnancy test to see if there was anything to the expanding belly of mine. Only to find out I'm just getting fat. =__= So I've decided to start a diet and work-out regiment, and was planning on doing that starting yesterday...Only to have a 100.5 temp all day. I couldn't move, and was sick as a dog. Totally sucked, because I didn't get to exercise or go and play the Zombie RPG that was scheduled for Monday. T_T Plus I had to call out of work today.

Anyway, overall, it's good to Have Alaster up and running. I finally got all the programs I wanted back on him, with the exception of Photoshop.[cough] I'll remedy that later. ^___^

Seriosuly...you know you're a geek when you spend $139 on your computer but won't go to the doctor. ^__^;;;

Nothing really new but hey, I have my page up

Hey there kids~

I wanted to tell everyone that I finally posted up netaidol.com. I set up a forum and everything over there as well....just like any other web comic site. Unfortunately due to me being sick and switching hours, it'll be time before the posting for all the comics will be up...plus I'm gonna toss up some cool things that aren't needed but are cool.

Feel free to stop by =D

I'll still come here now and then too when I have time so that Bru isn't the only one posting things.

P.S. Thanks for the keys Bru

February 9, 2009

There are good people afterall

So, I have had a very unfortunate few days:

Friday, I loose my baseball hat. This wouldn't be a big deal, 'cept the hat was from the Orange Bowl, that my University won back in early January. From the actual game. $30 hat. Gone.

Saturday: My dorm key falls off the key ring. Pretty sure this happend at Wal-Mart. Pretty sure I'll never see it again, though I'm going to go check a friend of mine's car, that I rode in, on the off chance it didn't actually fall out till I was back in the car. Wal-Mart says they couldn't find it, and no one had turned it into the lost and found. The school says I have till Friday to find the Key, before I will have to pay to replace the key. Its not juts "oh, we'll make a copy". Nope. Virginia Tech is a State Institution, which means the locks on the dorm door, the mailbox that corrisponds to my dorm door, my key, my roommates key, and the "Loaner Key" that I'm using now, have to be replaced. There goes $50....

To top it all off, Tonight: I get out of dinner at 6:50. By the time I get to the academic building across campus (6:55) I realize my phone has fallen out of my pocket. I go back, retrace my route, check the dining hall. No phone on the ground, no one has found it at the dining hall. Go back to the academic building, sit through the meeting I was now late for. Borrow a friends phone, try to call and text my phone, nothing.

So I'm panicing at this point, right? Really bad day, phone gone, gonna cost a fortune to replace, etc, etc.

I get back to my dorm around 8pm. Theres an email from my Mom. At about 6:52 (two minutes after my phone goes mia), my Mom got a call from a girl who found my phone, and told her to tell me that she would be droping it off at the Student Union. I get there before she does, leave contact info with the Lost and Found at Squires (thats the school's Student Union), and about 8:50, I get a call telling me my phones been dropped off.

Phone probably could have sold for $40-60 on the internet. There are truly some good people on this planet.

February 1, 2009

small gripe

So, the superbowl is tonite. My team didn't make it, but I decided as soon as I found out the Redskins wouldn't be in the playoffs, to root form whom I thought would be the most unlikely candidate to win: the Cardinals. And since they made it to the superbowl, I'm pretty entertained, and will be cheering them on all night. Heres the problem tho:

I'm going over to my friends apartment. There are 3, count em, 3 High Def 36 inch or larger Plasma Screen Tv's there, with HD Cable. Now, 36inches aint that big, but its a damn sight better then what I got. I watched the superbowl there last year on HD, and it was awesome. If I can, I will never watch the big game one something that isnt HD. I digress.

The game is probably going to last a while. Its a Sunday night, tho, and that means the busses stop running to my friends apartment at 10:30. Odds are, the game wont be over by then. Here in lies my issue. Why the hell wont the University do something smart for once, and extend the bus hours on nights like this. Last year we had reports of a good deal of students getting plastered and having trouble getting back to Campus. Not everyone has friends they can call on for a lift. I'm lucky. One of my friends agreed to pick me up this year after the game. Not everyone will get that chance.

All I'm saying is, the University I go to should really use their heads some times, and have the busses run a little later on Sunday night, when theres a big game like the Superbowl on. I realize it's not a University sponsered event, but the guys in charge should know that most students are going to be interested, and probalby off campus, and probably drunk to boot. I wish the people in charge would use their heads some times....

January 28, 2009

Too soon?

So im not sure how many ppl know or not, but the other day, there was an incident in one fo the residence halls on campus. Long and short, one dude chopped off a chicks head in one of the on campus coffee shops in a dorm. Pretty gahstly, esspecially considering Virginia Tech has a small history of students snapping and killing people :p

Something that struck me as stupid was some comments/ letters to the editor from concerned partents. Some parents want to "ban asian students" from attending Tech, since both incidents were perpertratied by asian students. Personally, thats pretty stupid. But its sad how quickly people jumped on that as a solution. Other parents are telling their kids "not to make any friends with Asian students" or "to keep a distance from the Asians". Meanwhile, the university is bending over backwards shitting itself, because all those security measures they put in place to protect studetns really didnt stop homedude from hacking of this chicks head with a kitchen knife. It's made for an interesting week, to say the least.

But to hte point of my rant (other then keeping this place alive).  I'm sitting in class, and my teacher is ranting on about something. Is on topic, and he's doint it in a funny way. Its great. Suddenly, a student complains, and suggests the teacher might want to move onto the next subject. Ballsy student. The teachers reply "well, what are you gonna do, Chop my head off?". Class kinda goes quite, then about maybe half of us start laughing. I'm left wondering tho....Too Soon?

January 26, 2009

Boy am I lazy!

Hey there again kids! It looks like this site is near dead *nod*

Starting the 9th of Feb I will be working my 3-11 shift so I'll probly not be around for you folks as much as I should. Also, I did buy www.netaidol.com tho there is nothing up so there's no point looking quite yet. We're slowly waiting for the templates to be sent to me before I do anyhing. Also, I'm using joomla and cpanel which I have NO CLUE how to use and am overly confused on how I'm supposed to make my site...

An Excuse and a Poem

Sorry for the extended absence, folks! Things haven't been hectic or anything, but I've just been lazy or had nothing to write about. =P Today, though, I would like to share one of my favorite poems I wrote a couple of years ago. Critique and comments are always welcome! Gah, I always have a hard time showing my work. Especially my poetry.

Toxicity

Your lips against mine,
Our bodies in a slow grind
The sweet caress of your fingers,
Brushing over my thigh.

It’s that damn poison, baby-
You’ve got me on a constant high.

My heart tells me to stop, while
My body gently coaxes you in

This is wrong, so wrong-
Why does it feel so right?
Why does your darkness
Seem like my light?
You get me so hot
But my heart is so cold

Why couldn’t I just do as I was told?

Why can’t I learn to leave you alone?

It’s that damn poison, baby
I’m addicted in every sense of the word
Living in a constant high…

While you’re killing me on the inside.

This is on my deviantart account too... you all should take a look-see. *waggles eyebrows* Also, maybe you guys could even request certain styles or themes from me and my stories? Whatever you'd like to see in writing, and I'd do my best to execute it. What do ya think?

I Love Bricks

Okay, well this is a good time to say that I love bricks. I keep buying and getting my Xbox 360s repaired. I still stand by the system as the games are fun, but damn, this is xbox #6 going in for repairs. Its funny too cause I looked and this ne was purchased feb 13th 2008 and its already bricked.

Okay, for the good news tho, I have paid for webspace and I SHOUD have netaidol.com for my page. I don't know if it's registered yet, I'll know tomorrow I guess. BTW, I have a webcomic. Isn't that swell?

Winter of My Discontent

Ahem
[Clears throat]

Oh Internet Service
Oh Internet Service
Why hath thou been cut?

Oh internet service
Oh internet service
Why put me into a rut?

Is it because thy mailing system sucks?
My bills I doth not receive
Your claims of fixing it, I doth not believe

No blogging will I do
It's all thanks to you
Your service is a real big con
for online gaming n00bs shall not be pwned

As you laugh at my discontent in glee
no games, or looking at art of badassery

As you bastards roll around in thy money piles
there is no pictures, images, or sharing files

Oh Internet service
Oh Internet Service
Why hath thou tormented me so

Oh Internet Service
Oh Internet Service
Thy company shall burning in a thousand fires a glow

Yes you read the title right. It's the first Chatty Goodness of the year. And I'm glad to say I have made absolutely....no new years resolutions.

The nerve of some people

Right so, ever have one of those days when you go "what the hell is this jackass thinking?" Well, that happened to me yesterday.

So far, breaks been wonderful for me. Errands to run and what not, but overall, fine and dandy. Spent a whole week+ with the girlfriend in DC, time of my life. Get home last night, check my school mail, and I've got an email marked "Urgent" from one of my professors for next semester. Now, I've never met this guy, but let me tell you, he's made a bad impression. The bastard has assigned homework due the 26th of January, and warns that we should start it asap, as its gonna take "5-10 hours to do, and there will be another assignment sent out next week". Now, to make sure you understand, this shit is giving us work to do, on break (which your not supposed to do) BEFORE the semester has even STARTED!

Now, please, if my being pissed at this is irrational, please let me know :P (dont really tell me if im being irrational, i'll just say nasty things about you :P )
